Junior County Championship - Tyneside Golf Club - 25th October 2020

The Junior County Championship was held at Tyneside Golf Club on Sunday 25th October in cold and blustery conditions. It was a great competition. Jessica Hall from Bishop Auckland GC won with a gross 72 adding this title to the Ladies title which she won earlier in the year. Well done Jess.

2020 AGM

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, Durham Girls High School are unable to accommodate us for our AGM in November as planned.

Appleby Bowl, Houghton le Spring, Saturday 15th August

The Appleby Bowl was won by Cassidy Hamilton from Bishop Auckland with a net 70.

The runner up was Millie Hixon from Rockcliffe with a net 71.

We are very excited to have our first County Junior Competition of the year on Saturday 15th August at Houghton le Spring Golf Club. The competition is the Appleby Bowl.

In my last message on the 22nd May, 8 weeks ago, I said I had just played my first game of golf. Since then we have had a regular itinerary of competitions and medals and it doesn’t feel as though we’ve ever been away!

As we get used to the new ‘norm’ further easing of restrictions happened yesterday our clubhouse opened and some people used it whilst others sat outside at the picnic tables.

Mrs Florence Kinsella

It is with great sadness that we heard that Past President Mrs Florence Kinsella died of a stroke on Friday 26th June in St Andrews. Our thoughts are with her daughter Ann and the rest of her family at this time.
