Captain's Message - Dec 2020

It is good news that we are back playing golf, it was a pity that golf was taken away from us when we went into the 2nd lockdown. Let us hope we can enjoy our wonderful game through the winter period, and throughout 2021. We have been delighted that we have been able to play some of the competitions this year. The Championship which produced a wonderful course record of 62 from Jess Hall of Bishop. Jess being crowned County Champion. The Vine Trophy, The Charity Competition, The Greener Cup (Bronze Championship) all went ahead even with a change of date, in some cases a change of venue. All events have produced a high entry, with The Vine Trophy we even had to ballot entries. I started in all of these competitions, it was great to see the smiles of players as they teed off. Many ladies congratulating the Association on holding the events in 2020, which has made all the hard work worthwhile.

Our AGM should have been held on Saturday 30th November but it another event we have had to postpone. We are hoping to have an AGM by Zoom late January, it may well be a different AGM to what we are used to. The Swop Shop, we propose to have by Zoom and this should take place in February. Dates for both will be announced shortly with all the information being sent to clubs also on our website.
