Olive Edwards

DCLGA is sad to announce the passing of Olive Edwards at the grand age of 101 yrs.  Olive was a livetime member of Boldon Golf Club as well as being active in the County,Vets and Captains Society.  She was a past Vice-Captain of DCLGA but was unable to take on the Captain's post for family reason

Local Rule adopted.

DCLGA have adopted the Local Rule about 'Accidental movement of the ball on the putting green'.  This will become a Rule of Golf next year but England Golf are keen for all clubs and Counties to adopt it now.

LIFE STYLE MEMBERS

Ladies, who are 'Life Style' members at their clubs, ARE entitled to play in all DCLGA Competitions and Matches as long as they have paid their Association membership fee,( currently £5.00).

Agreed at County Meeting 20/02/2017.

Jessica Hall plays in Portuguese Ladies Amateur Championship

Jessica Hall got invited to the Portuguese Ladies Amateur Championship in Lisbon last weekend. She went hoping to make the cut but had a brilliant week shooting 74-76-74-70 to finish 18th and was the highest english finisher in the competition.

Swap Shop

Don't forget the annual Swap Shop will take place on Saturday, January 28th 2017 at Durham City Golf Club 10 a.m.-12noon.

Once again we will be holding a raffle, proceeds going towards the County team training expenses.  Any prizes will be much appreciated.

Jenifer Anderson

It is with great sadness that DCLGA committee announce the passing of Past County Lady Captain (1982/83) and County Secretary (1984-95), Jenifer Anderson. She lost her battle with cancer on December 19th 2016.

There will be a private cremation, with a memorial service in mid January.

2016 AGM

Ladies, don't forget that our AGM will take place this coming Saturday ( Nov. 26th) at 10.30.a.m.
It is being held in the same hall as last year at Durham Girls High School.

Anderson Evening League

As there were only 3 entries, and a subsequent withdrawal, for the Anderson Evening league, we are struggling to encourage clubs to take part.  After a suggestion in Committee, the need to have nominations for the Evening league has been removed.  If any club would like to enter the Anderson Even

Ballingall Shield

The Ballingall Shield is the annual target match between Durham and Northumberland first played for in 1972. The format is a 4BBB match played off scratch.
