CMW Day 4 - Durham v Northumberland

Updated: Jul 2, 2021

Matches against Northumberland are usually very closely fought with the local rivalry adding a bit of spice to the occasion.

In the morning foursomes Durham managed a 2-1 win with the final match going all the way to the 18th green.

The afternoon singles games were also quite tight affairs but with Durham coming out on top in the first 3 games we were assured of a win. Ella Crang then won her match meaning that overall Durham beat Northumberland 6-3.

Durham have now moved into third place in the overall standings - but before we get too excited we are playing Yorkshire tomorrow in the final match. However, if we think back to 2019 when County Match Week was held at Seaton Carew, Durham did beat Yorkshire - so they are not invincible!
